how to take care of your swimwear
To make your swimwear more sustainable than it already is, is to make the piece last for years, the more your swimwear lasts more sustainable it is, more life your are giving to the product and more care you are taking for the planet. So here are some tips to make your swimwear lasting longer and taking care of it in a proper way.
1. Wash your swimwear with cold water and use neutral or delicate soap.
Every time you wear your swimwear you should wash it with cold water and using a neutral or delicate soap. With the amount of sunscreen and body oils we use nowadays we can easily damage our swimwear, these products can make your swimwear less durable. If you have time, it is also recommended to let it soak for 30 minutes in cold water to remove all the chemicals and salt that can spoil our swimwear before adding the soap.
Never use hot water on your swimwear or wash it together with another color.
2. Rinse well and remove excess water.
This part is very important to leave your swimwear as clean as possible without leaving any soap on it. Squeeze out the water gently and try not to wring the swimwear too much, it can damage the piece. You can use a towel to help get the water out of your swimwear, just wrap it in the towel for a few seconds.
3. Let the swimwear dry properly.
Lay your swimsuit to dry flat out of direct sunlight, the sun's rays can fade and damage the fibers of your swimwear.
Do not hang the pieces.
4. Additional tip.
When wearing your swimwear, avoid sitting directly on rough surfaces such as concrete, wood or cement, as this could damage or tear the fabric.
